August 10, 2013: Tionól Supporting Local Bands
The first-ever Tionól event was held at Áras Chrónáin in Clondalkin, Dublin, and broadcast live on West Dublin Access Radio 96FM. The event was a huge success, selling out and showcasing the best in local talent.
Driven by a deep hunger for success and a passion to work with local musicians, I saw this as an opportunity to apply my newly developed skills as an event staff member and trainee sound engineer. Mentored by the Director of Áras Chrónáin, I wanted to create something truly memorable for both the performers and the community.
August 2, 2014: Cath 14 – Battle of the Bands
Cath 14, held at Áras Chrónáin in Clondalkin, Dublin, was a Battle of the Bands event that brought together some of the best up-and-coming local talent. The event, which was broadcast live on West Dublin Access Radio 96FM and Raidió Chrónáin, was an unforgettable night of competition, music, and excitement.
The winners of Cath 14 received an electronic press kit from WDAR and secured a performance spot at the Ballyfermot Festival hosted by WDAR 96FM. In addition, they were interviewed on Festival TV, hosted by Community Productions in Ballyfermot, further enhancing their exposure and recognition within the local music scene.
April 22, 2016: Bál Na nGael
The Bál Na nGael was a black-tie event held at the Red Cow Moran Hotel, organized by ITTD Cumann Gaelach, Tionól Events Promoter, and Raidió Chrónáin. Featuring live performances by Seo Linn, a 4-course dinner, and dancing, it was a major highlight of the social calendar. The event brought together attendees for an unforgettable night of Irish music, food, and celebration of the Irish language.
2017: The Founding of Mac Uaid Enterprises
In 2017, Mac Uaid Enterprises was officially founded, primarily focusing on IT software and game development services. As part of this business, Tionól events are now professionally organized and promoted under the company, bringing together technology and cultural event management for a well-rounded approach to supporting the arts.
2023-2024: The Revival Planning
After an 11-year hiatus, Tionól is making a comeback! From 2023-2024, we’ve been hard at work building partnerships, connecting with local artists, and planning for the next big event in 2025. This revival will be a celebration of Irish culture, music, and community, staying true to the roots of Tionól while bringing fresh, modern energy to the stage.
